Red Circle Reports


With 10 days remaining in the Red Circle Fund drive, district leaders on Tuesday reported 65 per cent of their $265,000 goal collected. Total collections to date represent an increase of 32 per cent over last week's report which listed only one-third of the goal received by the City Branch. Still in first place among the 23 local districts and the only area to surpass its quota is District 3, headed by Nurse Little, with 105 percent.

Petition Seeks Enlargement Of West VENT Voting District


A petition seeking to enlarge the West Slumville election district of Lower City Township by incorporating in it portions of the Slumville and North Hicktown No. 1 districts was presented to the Big County Court on Monday.

Library to Observe 25th Anniversary


At the Library Association meeting on Monday night, plans for the observance of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the GearCity Community Library were made.

Local Teachers In Conference


Nearly fifty GearCountians will take active parts in the program during the 33rd. annual 'We Don't Need No Education' conference which will be held next week under the auspices of the University of Bad Ideas.

Sale Will Be Held


Approximately 1,277 properties, seized for non-payment of taxes, will be sold at sales to be conducted by County Treasurer Edwin Moneytaker at the Court House. The properties will be those taken over for the past years.
