Viva La Cuba!

After their defeat in the Spanish-American War, the Spanish agreed to the Teller Amendment which granted The Republic of Cuba independence from the Kingdom of Spain. Havana would become the capital. Many Cubans rejoice after very long years of struggle.

Fifteen City Line Nurses Discharged


Of the 34 City Line nurses, who served in the Army and Navy Nurses Corps during the war, 15 have recently been discharged.

4 Hurt Sunday In Two-Car Collision


Four persons were injured in a head-on collision between two cars in Hicktown early Sunday morning. Both cars were wrecked, and the injured were taken to the Semi-Serious Hospital of the Injured.

Jerry Smith, 63, Dies of Heart Attack


Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Kolbodi's Funeral Home, for Jerry T. Smith. 63. Mr. Smith died last Friday morning of a heart disease caused by excess business management game playing.

Three Magistrates Given Certificates


Certificates of achievement for schooling in criminal law were presented to three Main City magistrates and a constable at the 16th annual dinner of the Big County Justice of the Peace Association Tuesday night in Moose Hall.
