We recommend you do the Licensing video before attempting this tutorial. If you own over 50% of a company, you can license any design that the company makes, free of charge. Likewise, that company can license any of your designs for free. We call this system, Platform Sharing. The reason that a company you own over 50% of can use your designs for free is because you are the majority controlling owner of that company. It is essentially a part of your company, even if it operates independently. The game does not have controls to limit what designs your subsidiaries can use. But you can disable subsidiaries from using your designs by disabling platform sharing in the Mega Menu Auto Commands. What if you want to use a design of one of your subsidiaries? Visit the RnD department. Then click the Outsourcing button at the top and select what type of design you want. The Outsourcing/Licensing/Platform Sharing window will open. We cover this window in-depth in the licensing video tutorial. To use the Platform Sharing system, click the Platform Sharing radio button. With these buttons, you can change what type of design you’re licensing. In this area, you can filter the list. The list of designs is here. The list only contains designs you have not obtained yet. You can name, assign a marque, and complete the transaction in this panel. Sort through the designs they have, and when you find one you want to license, click the “Agree” button. From there, you have licensed the design from the company for free. The design works like any other design in the game.
