We’ve designed the districting system to reduce the amount of micromanagement in the game. With the districting system, you can control multiple locations as if they were a single location. The districting system is accessible in the Mega Menu and the World Map. For this tutorial, we’ll use the World Map. You can find the districting system in the upper left-hand corner of the World Map. Here is the District Window. You use the top two dropdown boxes to select a district. The top dropdown is pre-filled with regions and countries. The bottom dropdown is custom made districts. We’ll select Europe. A summary of Europe will appear in the panel next to the Window. The values here average all the cities in the district. We’ll look at Factories. Now we have a factory window for the entire district. The game combines all factories in the district together to make one large factory. Anything we do in this window will apply to all cities and all factories in this district. For example, if you click Build Factory, the game will present you with a screen to build a factory in every city in the district that doesn’t have one. If you click Upgrade, you’ll be upgrading all factories in the district. This reduction in micromanagement helps with manually controlling production. I’ll click the Production button now to pull up the Production Window. The game merges all production lines of factories in the district into one grouping. So the number of lines you see used is the total number of lines used in all factories in the district. And the available lines are all available lines in the district. This system works like the standard factory production tools. When you apply changes, the game will spread the lines out evenly over every factory in the district with available production lines. For example, if you have three empty factories in a district and assign six lines, each factory will use two lines for that vehicle. Likewise, if you reduce production, the game will take away used lines evenly across all factories in the district. The game uses the internal city ID numbers to determine the order in which it applies changes to the factories. Let’s look at the District Branch system. The District Branch system allows you to manage all your branches as if they’re one. The district branch system is like the non-district version of the tools, but we apply any changes you make to all cities or branches in the district. If you use this system to build branches, it will construct a branch in every city in the district that doesn’t have one. Using this system to recondition your branches will result in a reconditioning of all branches in the district. There is one notable exception to the similarity of tools here with the individual branches. The shipping panel contains an additional feature that allows you to restrict your branches to only receive vehicles from a specific district. We’ll cover this more in the Branch Shipping And District Locks video. Looking at the Distribution Window, It is like the rest of the tools in the District Branch. Any changes made here apply to all branches in the district. Both the Marketing and Competition systems work the same as their individual city counterparts, except they apply for the entire district. We cover the District Management system in the Custom Districts video.
